Fairly common resident.

Adults may be swept from the foodplant, Cornus sanguinea, during May with larva feeding in July/August in a blotch mine from which it excises a case.

The mine size should be 5.5mm-7mm, and usually have some 'practice' puncture marks at the start of the mine caused by the female making a few attempts at oviposition.
